Ok, so I've decided against lap band...

...and now I like the sleeve!  It's actually called a vertical sleeve gastrectomy.  It's different from the lap band in that there is no foreign body remaining IN my body.  It's restrictive, but the surgery is not as drastic as gastric bypass.  I'm really liking what I've read about it so far.  I also like that I won't have to keep returning to my surgeon's office for maintenance to the band (fills and unfills) to adjust restriction.
