Seriously?

Oh man, so, so, so tired and frustrated with this whole surgery approval process.  First, my original surgeon quit, now I'm dealing with extreme incompetence on the part of the insurance company.

My new surgeon's insurance coordinator submitted my NEW file/information to insurance on Friday August 17th.  I called them a couple days later and they said they had no file.  The insurance coordinator said they did and she'd been contacted by them and sent more info they'd requested.  Ok, so I give it a couple more days and call again.  Now, the pre-cert department looks deeper into things and finds out that ALL of my new info had been merged into the denied file for authorization of surgery with my previous surgeon.

New surgeon, new practice, new hospital.. and some idiot in their infinite wisdom decides it should go in that file?  So, call the insurance coordinator again.  She calls insurance again.  They open a new file again.  I called to confirm a new file is open.

This is ridiculous! I keep reminding myself that it will be worth it in the long run.  But, the longer this takes the later my surgery will be.  And, I really wanted to have it pretty far behind me before we travel to Scotland for Christmas.  Doesn't look like that's going to happen.
